Under a new provision of the housing and rent control law tenants may not be forced to surrender housing before 60 days after written eviction notice. The law broadens enforcement with expeditor injunctions against unlawful evictions and rent violations. It decontrols several types of housing and maintains a 30 day veterans preference for new homes.
Northwest Texas Hospital posted a deficit for the first time this year with a $670 loss in March. Buck Beringer, the hospital superintendent, told the board the month’s charges were $55,028 and expenses $55,698, with $33,319 collected to date.
