Coast Guard claims warning shots during Juan search

Chief Boatswain Michaelson of CG-189 says he fired shells only as a signal as the Norwegian steamer Juan was halted in Chesapeake Bay for liquor search. He maintains no shell landed within 1,200 feet, contradicting Capt. Anderson and Pilot Kesterson who insist a prior shot would have hit the Juan before the ship swerved. Kesterson says his wife will accompany him on the voyage to Unalaska.
