The Santa Fe subsidiary South Plains and Santa Fe seeks a line from Seagraves Texas to Lovington New Mexico. Numerous witnesses supported the Texas and Pacific application including H L Birney EK W Sewell Lon Goodman J A Lusk A Chesher Walker Wilson Cecil Scharbauer and Er R Tanner.

Putnamville Ind April 4 The anti saloon league head Shumaker superintendent freed from the state penal farm after serving 53 days of a sixty day sentence for contempt of the Indiana Supreme Court. Seven days were cut for good behavior.
Washington reports no tax reduction legislation possible in the current special session. Treasury officials say consideration of a tax cut at the next regular session in December is too early to assess.
Two Mexican federal aviators were shot down while attacking General Topete's troop train near Naco Sonora. Capt. Juan Gutierrez and Lieut. Jesus Gaona died as their plane exploded after rebel fire hit its fuel and bombs. Bombing incidents followed initial exchanges over the railway line.
