McSwain Calls Air Forces Hearing on Aviation Bills
Chairman McSwain of the House Military Committee called aviation leaders to a hearing on all Army Air Corps related bills. The main proposal would merge the air corps with the Bureau of Air Commerce into a federal Department of Air, doubling planes and roughly tripling manpower. Rickenbacker and Doolittle were asked to testify. Another measure would promote competition in aircraft development.
