A giant tri motor plane crashed Tuesday near Cottonwood Falls Kansas killing Knute Rockne five other passengers and two pilots. The doomed flight was en route to Los Angeles from Kansas City via Amarillo when the accident occurred.

Easter Egg Hunt in the City Section Park on River Road Saturday at 2 pm invites all city children age 12 and under. Ninety seven prize eggs hidden with a golden egg worth 5 dollars and a most eggs prize of 2.50. Prizes include eggs worth 1 and 50 cents and tickets to Skippy at the Mission Theater. Swift Packing and Girl Scouts color and boil eggs. Boy Scouts will supervise for fairness.
Tickets for the Old Fiddlers contest went on sale at City Drug Store No 1 this morning. The event is Friday night at 8 o clock. Prices are 50 and 75 cents with children admitted at half price. Those who bought last Friday night tickets may reuse them. The program will include a few extra features.
Texas Rangers may be called in to stop traffic on the Red River toll bridge between Denison Texas and Rio Okla until July 1. D. K. Martin of the Texas Highway Commission said the bridge will not be inspected until fully completed and ready. He claimed a July 1 opening agreement with Oklahoma, despite Oklahoma crews pushing to finish early. Martin warned Rangers would prevent an premature opening.
The Old Fiddlers contest at the Municipal Auditorium features new entertainment with a back and wing dance by Henry Morton and Mark Foster, a tap dancer Little Miss Mills, and ten fiddlers selected from 62 entries. Eck Robertson and family will visit, with Bud and Buster Leavell and Hugh Roden’s group providing music and entertainment through the evening.

The Archbishop of York will speak from England to United States listeners tomorrow afternoon on the Good Day devotions program. The five minute talk starts at 1 15 PM Central and is broadcast on WEAF and WJZ. The boxing championship between Chicago and New York is on WJZ at 10 15 PM.
Dr. J. W. Cantwell aged 63, longtime Wichita Falls superintendent since 1923, died in a local hospital after a brief pneumonia illness. Former Ft Worth superintendent and ex president of Oklahoma A and M College, he was a prominent Texas and Southwest educational figure.
