A San Antonio man, Ida Narvaiz Jr., was executed in Huntsville after being convicted of a 1988 brutal knife attack that killed four family members, including three sisters and a brother, all aged 11 to 19. The case followed Gov Bush commuting another death sentence earlier that day. Narvaiz declined to speak as the drugs took effect and was the 11th Texas inmate executed that year.
