Jurors Hear Testimony on Deadly 1993 Waco Raid
Jurors in a $675 million wrongful death case heard taped 911 calls and details of the 1993 Waco siege. Testimony focused on the raid, the fire that ended the standoff, and decisions by commanders Jamar and Rogers. FBI agents testified that tear gas operations lacked tank wall-pounding instructions, amid questions of government responsibility. Janet Reno stated agents had discretion on the final day to act to remove sect members. Plaintiffs argue federal actions violated the plan and contributed to multiple fires and lack of firefighting equipment.
