Across Amarillo and the Panhandle farmers store most wheat awaiting higher prices. Sunday and Monday prices held 68 to 70 cents per bushel with little selling, then fell to 66 cents noon yesterday before closing at 68. Federal inspector John F. Ross reported 338 cars inspected. No grain purchased locally by Kearns Grain Co., many loads put in storage, and U S Strader Co paid 68 to 70 cents but bought little. Farmers also store in bins as elevators report similar activity.

Quick thinking by Frank Morris, a Lamesa mechanic, probably saved Doyle K. Whitmier aged two, son of Mr and Mrs Whitmier, when he fell from a third story courthouse window at noon. Morris caught the child's clothing as he fell toward the cement walk, breaking the fall and preventing worse injuries. The child sustained a fractured arm and a concussion.

Roswell New Mexico June 23 Eight eastern New Mexico counties show a population rise of 23557 from 1920 to 1930 census figures released today. Ten years ago there were 61441 persons in Roosevelt Chaves Lincoln Eddy Lea DeBaca Curry and Otero counties. Today there are 4 998. Most counties on the east side grew, Lincoln and DeBaca were the exceptions.
