A carpenter’s helper Leroy Simonson Jr. 26 of Cozy Courts 1302 North Fillmore was electrocuted last night when a fallen high line struck him after a storm. Eye witnesses said he tried to beat the wire away with a stick. He leaves a wife Ruby and three children Robert Lee Roger Dale and Sharon Rose. His mother Rose Simonson and mother in law Mrs J W Dover also survive.
The House Ways and Means Committee approved a corporation tax speedup to bring about 4.2 billion dollars into the treasury over five years. The plan would shift due dates so by 1951 end corporations on calendar year bases pay by June 15, reducing timing but not overall obligations.
