Death sentence handed to Willacy County killer

In Tupelo Mississippi a plane crash killed 15 year old student flier Lyle Bowen Jr and pilot instructor Gerald Burdine 20 of Verona. The craft dived about 50 feet near Tupelo airport. Farwell crash kills Liberal woman and injures five
Mrs Hallie Granger 72 of Liberal Kansas was killed instantly when a six passenger auto overturned on Highway 33 near Farwell. Five others were injured one seriously including Mrs Homer McAlister of Emmittsburg Iowa who had possible internal injuries. The party was en route to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.
