Allen Lee Pearce also known as John E. Chenau, both 23 or 24, from Oklahoma City and Austin, Texas, is jailed in Washoe County after crash landing his burning Cessna 120 near Reno. He said he left Seattle last Tuesday en route to Albuquerque when a Western Nevada fire forced a forced landing and a five day desert trek for survival.

Mary Gale Syros eleven months old daughter of Mr and Mrs William Syros Jr of 931 Nelson Avenue Borger was electrocuted while sitting on a floor furnace and touching an electric sewing machine treadle. A 125 volt shock killed her instantly as the father was away with the National Guard. She was taken to North Plains Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. Funeral plans incomplete. Survived by parents maternal grandparents and several relatives.
