Wounded Sailor Seeks Return From Albuquerque Home
Thomas Maher of Gallup filed a habeas corpus petition in district court to recover his 27 year old son Thomas Maher Jr. from the home of Art and Mrs Seefeldt at 707 Parkland Circle where he has been staying after being wounded in the war. The Seefeldts say the son is improving under their care and refuse to release him, claiming the father abandoned him.

Car and truck demolished in highway crash near Santa Fe
State police report a car and a truck collided about nine miles south of Santa Fe. The car driven by Jack Newson of Albuquerque struck the rear of a truck driven by Tommy Pool of Albuquerque. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were released after treatment.
