Shooting in Nuevo Laredo Saloon Leaves One Dead

Ramiro Lugo 21 of Nuevo Laredo Mexico died after a saloon shooting in Laredo Texas. Miguel Arradillas a Nuevo Laredo police desk sergeant was seriously wounded in the face as he tried to arrest Gustavo Santos also of Villa Dama Mexico.

Nellie R. Miller Remembered in Ama rillo Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie R. Miller age 52 were held at 3 pm yesterday from the family home at 2109 Polk Street. She was the widow of Col. Will A. Miller a land and oilman and former mayor of Amarillo. She died at St Anthony's hospital after a morning arrival. Rev E B Fincher of the Southern Presbyterian church assisted by Bishop E C Seaman officiated.

Five Firemen Die in Susquehanna Canoe Tragedy

Five men drowned when their canoe capsized on the Susquehanna River near Columbia Lancaster. The four identified victims were members of the Union Fire Company in Lebanon. James Reily, a former Lebanon chief, was also among the dead. The group had traveled by car to visit firemen in Columbia.

Thugs Target Fort Worth Jewelry Shop Robbery Stopped

A Fort Worth loan and jewelry shop was robbed of 10000 to 20000 dollars in diamonds and 750 in cash. An employee, C. W. Allen, confronted the robber as he left, pursued him outside, and held him until a policeman arrived. Diamonds and cash were recovered.

Blacks Attack Doctor Named in Mob Death

Dr J A Anderson of Chickasha, previously named by a coroner's jury in the Henry Argo mob death, was assaulted today by two Black men in Chickasha. He described being followed, robbed of money, and struck after mentions of his name in newspapers. Police searched for the attackers as Grady County officials expected no renewed riots.
