A fugitive knapps twelve people and seizes cars in a violent escape across central Oklahoma ending near Binger. The kidnapper Frank Sawyer, an escapee from Lansing prison, was captured after a gun battle with Sheriff Horace Crisp and deputy Al Marlow. One victim Bob Goodfellow was shot in the groin and in serious condition.
Washington June 4 Secretary of Agriculture Wallace told cotton interests in an informal conference that rising commodity prices complicate crafting a concrete relief program.
