Two freak tornadoes tore across Mustang Oklahoma today destroying property and crops but injuring no one. Early estimates place damage across homes barns and fields with recovery crews assessing the scene in the central state.

If test results prove out, up to 25 million barrels could be recovered with potential for much more. Drowning death of 16 year old John Enix near Ama rillo

A 16 year old, John Enix, drowned in Cottonwood Creek about nine miles northeast of Amarillo. He was a Horace Mann Junior High student who would join Palo Duro High School this fall. He swam with Mike and Jack Moore, brothers, who were with him at the LX Ranch swimming hole. Attempts to revive him failed after he disappeared underwater in 10 to 12 feet of water. The body was recovered by Glenn Phillips after foreman Billy Spear rode to assist and an ambulance was called.

Amarillo Mason E O Feierabend Dies After Stroke

From age 20 to 27 he worked across the United States Canada and Mexico. He arrived in Amarillo in 1894 and has lived nearby for 62 years. Feierabend worked in the feather trade and saddle making before serving briefly as assistant street commissioner of Amarillo.
