Major Henry C. Gamble 46 former Canyon resident and commander of Second Battalion 142nd Infantry Texas National Guard died suddenly in San Antonio after being stricken in his car. He served since 1911 and led units across the Panhandle and West Texas. Survivors include four sisters and three brothers.
