Four men from Pampa died and one Shamrock man was injured when a Triangle Well Servicing Co pickup collided head on with an oil transport on State Highway 273 ten miles north of McLean at 8:30 a m. The dead were Ray Lester 36 Junior Lester 17 Troy Lucas 39 and Aaron Whitney 18. Atlas T Gregg 53 of Shamrock is in fair condition with severe injuries. An unidentified driver from Wheel er Pipeline Co. rescued Gregg before flames engulfed the tanker. The crash is blamed on a tie rod failure causing the pickup to veer into the oil truck.
