Lunatic Caught After Years of Freedom in Syracuse
In Syracuse a 41 year old Texan who killed his parents 20 years ago and escaped a Texas state hospital in 1952 was arrested while consulting a psychiatrist. Howard Merritt Pierson surrendered quietly after Texas officials tipped local police. He had been a UT student and killed his father, a Texas Supreme Court justice, in 1930s. He escaped in 1938 and was recaptured in Minneapolis the same year.

Four Children Burn to Death in Mission Hut Fire
