White Deer Man Sentenced to Two Years in Swindle Case
Otis O. Fleenor of White Deer received a two year term in the state penitentiary at Huntsville after a jury conviction in district court on swindling charges. Hedley Woman Pioneer Dead at 88 in Colorful Civil War Life
Belle Langford Smith 88 died at her grandson’s home in Amarillo area after a life spanning the Civil War era as a Confederate spy. She and husband Col. Smith helped settle Donley County Texas near Hedley and she was a charter member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Funeral services at Hedley Baptist Church will be held this afternoon with interment at Hedley cemetery.
