The caves of J R Dumas and Cart B Woods charged with murder and conspiracy to murder in Rankin, Upton County were sent back to Upton County. Judge Hamilton ruled the district court lacked jurisdiction after Woods claimed he had not been arraigned or arrested when the case moved from Upton to Travis county for change of venue.
A. D. Erlich, farmer 16 miles north of Shattuck Oklahoma, died after being struck while riding the running board of a truck by a passing vehicle. Witnesses said the accident occurred late in the afternoon.
Dallas jurors begin selection to try W. Ray Adams for the slaying of Orville Mathews over an election bet. Questions on church affiliations and Ku Klux Klan links weighed as potential jurors were questioned amid security and high interest.
