Maud Coble Dies After Alaskan Roots and Panhandle Ranch Life
Mrs Maud Roberts Coble a prominent Lubbock businesswoman and ranching partner to her husband W T Coble died from injuries in a highway crash eight miles south of Borger. She was 62 and survived by her husband daughter Catharine and two sisters. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church with burial in Llano Cemetery. The Cobles built the Turkey Track ranch hub of a large Panhandle cattle empire and helped form the South Hutchinson Oil Company now tied to Phillips Petroleum.

Pampa Bride Freed on Bond in Slaying Case
Mrs. Pat Garrison posted 1500 bond and was released after being charged with murdering her husband in Pampa. Garrison, a former Amarillo wrestler, was shot in the back at his home as he returned from town. He ran 30 yards before dying on a neighbor’s lawn. He had struck her during prior quarrels and left to buy ammunition. Funeral services are planned for Monday pending relatives’ arrival.
