Fatal Crash Leads To Murder Charge Against Driver

Potter County grand jury charged Mandred Edward Davis, 46, of Pampa with murder without malice in the July 31 traffic death of Sherri Gwen Dodson, 24. Davis, held on $5,000 bond, allegedly drove drunk after a two-car collision on West Amarillo Boulevard. Dodson’s unborn twins died in the emergency room. Dodson and another child survived. Davis had two artificial legs and a broken arm from a prior crash and was treated at St. Anthony’s Hospital before being remanded to jail.

Terrorist Attacks Hit School in Saigon

Explosions outside an American operated school for South Vietnamese servicemen killed and wounded scores in Saigon. At least nine South Vietnamese were reported killed and 62 injured, including 23 U.S. Air Force men, in the area of the school run by the U.S. government.

Six persons were killed and one man injured when a crash three miles south of Killeen Texas on Farm Road 440 claimed the lives of a Austin man Don W Brayles his wife and two children and three Ft Hood soldiers. Army officials withheld the soldiers names hours after the accident.
