County Official Mrs Owens Elected State Post

Mrs Avora Owens Brewster County treasurer was elected secretary treasurer of the County Treasurers Association of Texas at the 10th Annual Conference in El Paso September 18 20. She has served as county treasurer since 1944 and held a full term since 1945. Owens holds multiple civic roles including National Foundation chair and Pilot Club past president. Judge Alan Fraser spoke at the installation banquet. Mineral Wells will host the 1959 convention. Owens has two children, Mrs Lewis Abbott of Waco and Jimmy at Texas Tech.

Audsley Receives Promotion to federal hydraulics post

Glenn Audsley is promoted from the U S Geological Survey to the U S Corps of Engineers in Kansas City as a hydraulic engineer. Four Hunting Fines Assessed in JP Court

Four hunting violation fines have been assessed in Justice of the Peace W G Fielder's court since dove season opened Sept 1 according to State Game War den Sanford De Voll. Cases included killing a deer in closed season total 11750, possession of deer in closed season 11750, shooting dove from a car 4250, and shooting dove before hours 4250. All complaints were filed by De Voll.
