Alpine Boy Attends Mexican Methodist Work Camp
Wallace W. Duncan, son of Dr. and Mrs. Wallace E. Duncan, was among 15 U S Methodist college students chosen for the first work camp in Mexico. In Zacapoaxtla, Puebla, they built a playground and a basketball court, helped vaccine over 1500 people, and aided a public health clinic. He later visited Mexico City for the Diamond Jubilee of Methodism and traveled to Paricutin volcano.

Evaluation of School Tops PTA Meeting
The PTA held its first meeting of the year on September 20 at 3 30 in the high school auditorium. Mrs C F Cox presided as president and Supt Feyton Cain spoke on The Evaluation of Our School. Mrs Webb’s first grade room won the attendance award with full mother participation.

Alpine FFA holds a special meeting to set the Sweetheart contest for September 27 to October 2. Clay Cade is elected vice president, breaking a policy rule for first year members. Greenhand initiation plans are outlined and a Sears Roebuck award of 43 dollars funds a Southdown sheep project with Louise Hernandes receiving a bred ewe under a continuing chapter program.
