Non Jury Civil Matters Move Through District Court Here
A brief district court session focused on non jury civil cases with several continued to a later special session or the next term. The petit jury was excused until Tuesday and then for the remainder of the term. The three assault with intent to murder cases against M B Causey of Alpine were continued to the February term. Judge Hunter Metcalfe was to return to take up additional civil causes.

Canning Craze Drives West Texas Grocery Runs
Fort Davis and nearby towns report a widespread canning craze drawing buyers from Monahans Wink and Kerrville to stock up on squash okra peas corn turnips mustard greens and tomatoes. Apple buyers travel long distances paying around 60 cents a bushel for windfalls after a big windstorm carpeted the ground.
