Margaret claimed the trick roping cup progress cup and senior life saving cup while Jeanette earned bronze in horse show metal work tennis riflery canoeing archery and a swimming badge from the Red Cross event.

Bear Interrupts Rodeo as Scouts Visit Fort Davis
Fort Davis reports a wild moment during a Scout trip when a dead bear on a car fender became the highlight of the Bevis Mountains visit by 164 Boy Scouts from north and east Texas. Jim Mapy, Frazer canyon ranch man, shot the bear after it feasted on hay sheep. The bear drew a crowd at Prode ranch as the scouts watched a rodeo and many boys gathered around the scene, with cameras flashing and cheers fading as the bear was hauled away.
