Self Made Man Tied To Community Duty Promotes Alpine Chamber

Buttrell Purchases Cattle Herd and Ranch Near Hovey

Clyde Buttrell bought 500 head of stock cattle from the Pruett Bros named the C. A. Brown herd. He has taken possession of the 22,000 acre Ranch located about 12 miles north of Hovey. Alpine will be his trading point, pleasing many friends who wish him success.

Alpine High Edged by Marfa in Tight Round Ball Game

Alpine High was defeated by Marfa High 8 to 6 in a well played baseball game. Umpires were Ray M. Camp of Alpine and J. E. Conner of Marfa. Marfa led early, Alpine tied, and in the later innings Marfa scored twice to secure the win. Players noted include Maria Howard, Mitchell, Yates, Weakley, Edwards, and Pruett. The Alpine College audience cheered as players behaved with sportsmanship.

43700 Acre Brewster County Ranch Sold

Deeds recorded here show Commonwealth Bank and Trust Company and J C Terrell of San Antonio convey 73000 acres in central Brewster County to Joe M Graham of Del Rio for 189000 dollars. The land adjoins Graham’s extensive holdings and this sale marks one of several large county deals in progress.

Alpine High School Social Evening Brings Parents and Teachers Together

The Alpine High School Parents Teachers Association hosted a social evening presided by Mik A J Tipki, with Mr GAL Brown praising cooperation between parents and teachers. The school glee club performed to applause while exhibits filled the left wing and a domestic science punch in the right wing delighted attendees.

Cazares & Co Buy Out S Ferris in Alpine

J C Gambrano of El Paso arranged a deal with S Ferris to purchase A G & Co stock. The Alpine store will be renamed El Paso Store with Cazares as general manager. He will relocate his family to Alpine soon and bring years of mercantile experience to the new venture. The community welcomes the change and hopes for success.
