Ranch Activity Increases Across West Texas
Hallie Stillwell reports rising ranch activity with purchases and optimistic outlooks. Visitors include Jack and Mrs Catto of San Antonio and Marathon, who own new ranch home near Biscuit Hill. Catto buys 500 Hereford cows from Maurice Kohn for delivery November 11 to Alpine and Marathon. Cows come from George Jones Ranch near Marfa. Kohn bought the Jones herd. Other ranches along Arnold and Miller places show good grass and promising winter prospects. Beckett shipped lambs from Marathon, while Roark expects a mild winter in the lower Brewster County area.

Interior Secretary Doug las McKay will dedicate Big Bend National Park at 11 30 am Monday November 21 in the Chisos Basin. Gov Allan Shivers will accompany him.
