The Trans Texas Oil Co announced a test well location in extreme southwest Pecos County about 20 miles north of the Dodson Means test. The site is 18 miles northeast of Alpine on Sec 295 Block 11 GH and SA Ry survey, planned depth 1200 feet to test Delaware lime if no production. The Dodson Means test was abandoned at about 1800 feet after tools were lost. a second hole will be started nearby using both standard and rotary rigs.

Rains across the Highland region brought moisture to ranges and improved winter feed prospects.
