A mass meeting in Alpine launched a voluntary fire department plan with Rev C Bowles proposing funding via donations from 74 large and 62 small businesses and 400 residences. Committees for purchasing and soliciting were formed, with initial pledges totaling 765, and Bowles named to organize the new volunteer fire company.

Faculty Stunts Entertain Sul Ross Students
Sul Ross students enjoyed a college night with a funny one act play Catesby and a blood curdling King of the Cannibal Isle staged by the faculty. The show featured Miss Ruth Jenkins and Mr. W. A. Stigler with other faculty as lighting and scenery, plus a Ford stunt and a nut gathering impromptu by teachers. Next line: The public is invited.
