Commissioners Court in Called Session Sets Election Roles

The Commissioners Court met in called session to appoint voting judges for the Constitutional Amendments election on Tuesday November 4 1919. Names of precinct judges were listed and H T Fletcher authorized to repair Sheep Creek bridge on the Alpine Terlingua road.

Tax rolls approve road project near Jackson Harbor tank

The Tax Assessor presented his tax rolls for the project affecting the Jackson Harbor area. After examination, the rolls were approved, paving the way for road work tied to the tank site and related infrastructure.

Fletcher, returning from Texas Paso business, attends Highland Hereford Breeders meeting in Marfa as 1000 head of white faced yearlings prepare for shipment to the Kansas City sale during the Royal Live Stock Show. Moore reports fine oat crop despite dry spell near Ran ts

Mr. Moore of the Ran ts area says his oats suffered little due to limited rain. He sowed about five acres before, now has two new oat crops and expects winter grazing for stock. He plans to plant more oats soon for a spring harvest.

Ministers Receive Appointments at New Mexico Conference

Tucumcari New Mexico October 6 The New Mexico Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South concluded with bishop W F McMurry presiding. Appointments list several ministers assigned to El Paso district including C K Campbell J W Campbell J H Walker and J T Redmon among others. Las Cruces to hold next season, revival plans urged, and Rev J H Walker praised for return to charge for fifth year.
