The Wye unit of Brewster county TSTA met in Miss Hill's office on September 2 to plan for the coming year. Standing committees named include Executive with Misa Mile, Hil, Mrs Laura C. Henderson, Mr Leroy Roark, Mrs Skinner, and Mrs Catharine Smith. a committee with Char on Wade, Mrs Ruby Durst, Mrs Olive Blueher, Mrs Joe Neal Barnhart, and Bland Ive Whiteside. Publicity with Mr Leroy Roark, Miss Vivian Davis, and Mr Joe Live. Program with Henderson, Peyton Cala, Mrs Freda Powell, Mrs TH Etheridge, Mrs Reba Smith, and Mr G. G. Latarrelle. Dr Dorothy Dee Batley arrives as the Sul Ross State University English professor after degrees from Our Lady of the Lake College University of Texas and University of Wisconsin. She has studied at Northwestern American University and Illinois and traveled widely in the Orient the Americas. Charlotte Cox, AHS senior, was chosen Alpine FFA Sweetheart after a Friday noon contest. She beat Eleanor Sublet, with rivals Jerry Dickson and Ann Bounds also in the field. The Vocational Agriculture department netted about 591.48 dollars. Cox is a member of the high school band.
