Feeder steers held steady to lower with plainer grades showing weakness while stockers eased. Medium to good feeders sold mostly between 13.28 and 14.25, stockers around 13. Lamb bids were light with a load of medium to good lambs at 12.50 and choice lambs around 13.80 as week ended.

At MAAF many organizations arrived under the Troop Carrier Command redeployment plan and over seas veterans are billeted at the field. New squadrons include the 84th 85th 86th and 87th of the 437th group and air service groups 482nd and 457th. Capt Robert R Joynt arrives as Catholic chaplain from Sedalia Army Air Field replacing Father Sharkey. Joynt trained at Harvard and has 29 months of Army service. Special Services Officer Lt Neil Rogge thanks Marfa and Alpine for dances and Joyce at Sul Ross College. Maj John Moore becomes Base Personnel Officer after coming from Stout Field Indianapolis.
