Marathon Study Club Meets For Buffet Luncheon
The study club gathered November 7 at the Clubhouse for a buffet luncheon followed by a brief business meeting. President Mrs George Hargus led the session with program head Mrs Frank Wedin presenting Mrs Locklin of the western district who spoke on federation club work. Miss Eagleton from McCamey attended and spoke on Our Heritage. Mrs George Hargus organized a closing talent segment with dance pupils led by Mrs Mark Herring of Alpine. The year’s study topic is Our Changing World. Refreshments were served by Mrs Pat Rooney to many members and guests.

Delta Kappa Gamma members met at Mrs. Annie Lou Clark’s Fort Davis home on November 3 with 225 attending including Eddie Mae Collins and Mrs. Maddox and Mrs. Henderson. Barbecue honors football players band directors sweethearts and cheerleaders. teachers and families joined in thanks. Also covered: dessert bridge club, birth of Troy Jay McKinney weighing seven pounds five ounces, baby Brenda Ann Phillips, fishing outing at Balmorhea, and upcoming Brackettville hunt trip. Marathon schools to close Nov 21–26 for Thanksgiving break.
