Alpine Community Center Board Notes From October Meeting
The Alpine Community Center board met Thursday October twenty first with fourteen members present. The treasurer reported the center is holding its own but needs more funds as rummage sales declined. Parents were asked to pass on grown garments. The kindergarten now has 48 children, more than space allows, but they hesitate to turn anyone away. The group plans to move into the new building soon and noted furniture orders from Home Furniture Co. and Smith Furniture Co. for lobby, office, and kitchen. West Texas Utilities ordered three electric stoves and a refrigerator. Hardware costs will be covered by December, with move-in hoped for early next month.
