Alpine Cowboys to Return Sunday After Artesia Trip
The Alpine Cowboys resume play at Kokernot Field Sunday after a three game set in Artesia New Mexico. They host Artesia on Sunday Monday and Tuesday May 21 22 and 23. A stray .22 bullet grazed pitcher Darrell Massey in the left ankle during a target incident but caused no serious injury. Woodrow Epperson Jr., grandson of Mrs. J. C. Epperson of Alpine, has been accepted to the United States Military Academy at West Point and will report July 1. He is the son of Woodrow and Mrs. Epperson of Kerrville, to graduate from Tivy High School May 21, and was a National Merit Scholarship finalist. He was the principal appointee of U.S. Senator Ralph Yarborough to the academy.

A tour for members and interested buyers to visit ranches with sale bulls will be announced later.

Alpine to Open 24 Hour Truck Terminal and Cafe
Alpine plans a 24 hour truck terminal and a passenger car service station on East U S Highway 90 between Rogers Welding Shop and Lobo Drive In Theatre. Elmo Warnecke and Jack Woodard, from Arkansas, expect 15 to 20 workers and aim for a July 1 opening. Local manager will be Jake Cowart.
