The State Parks Board seeks condemnation of lands in Brewster County for Big Bend National Park. The notice names numerous defendants with their spouses and heirs identified as respondents. Special Commissioners are appointed to assess damages and hearings set for June 5, 1942 at the Alpine Courthouse. Defendants are summoned to appear before 10 a.m. to contest the petition or be heard.
The State of Texas through Special Commissioners announces a condemnation action No. 548 in Brewster County to acquire land for Big Bend National Park. Defendants include J J Willis trustee and multiple heirs and owners such as H N Woodall Susie Cochran Charles Dickerman Peter Bagdanty J J Willis and others. Hearing set for June 8 1942 at Alpine Court House to determine damages and rights. proceedings describe irregular tract descriptions and seek final decree vesting title in the state with costs and distribution per law.
On April 21 1942 a petition was filed by the Texas State Parastition to condemn land for Big Bend National Park. Special commissioners were appointed to assess damages for 640 acres in Brewster County described as Survey No 31 Abstract 2210 Block 6-17 GC & SP Ry Co. Hearing set for June 10 1943 at Alpine Court House.
