In San Antonio, the War Production Board requires trading in used tin or tin-coated collapsible tubes for each new toothpaste or shaving cream purchase. WPB officials say M-115 bans collapsible tin tubes for most foods cosmetics and toilet preparations to conserve tin supplies.
Galveston Texas Educations awards will be given to outstanding 4 H club boys and girls of Texas by the Santa Fe railway. Edward J Engel president says 1942 awards match last year’s 19 winners chosen from Texas farm club members under Texas A M College Extension. Winners attend the National 4 H Club Congress in Chicago with the International Livestock Exposition. About 1600 youths from nearly every state attend the event each year.
A letter from Japanese evacuee George Nakamura directs Sing Wong to irrigate celery every five days if it does not rain and harvest promptly to prevent seeding. Farm Security Administration agent John Stewart acts as intermediary. Nakamura arranged Wong’s services before relocation.
