Marfa April 30 A P Col ers Monahans was elected president of the Permian Basin District Firemen Assn at the semi annual convention here. New officers include Grady Brown Midland first vice president Jack Wilson Monahans second vice president and Thomas Marine Monahans secretary. Delegates chose Brownfield as the next convention site to be held in October. Main speaker Col H R Brayton director of the Fireman Training School at Texas A M stressed informing the public of a fire dept value and the need for cooperation between city officials and the department. Results Saturday afternoon included Monahans winning the Pumper race Fort Stockton second and Four-man nose race first with Pe cos third Alpine led two-man nose race.

A large Alpine fan delegation is expected for Sunday’s baseball game between the San Carlos Miners of Chihuahua and the Alpine Junior Cowboys in Ojinaga at 2 30 p m. Most fans will depart in the morning. Soil Conservation Unit Plans Storage House at Ranch
At an April 27 meeting of the Soil Conservation district an agreement with Anton Hess was signed to assist in planning his ranch.
