The Pilot Club of Alpine announces its annual rummage sale for March 29 and 30. Call TE7-4510 or TE7-2539 for pickup of donations including furniture lamps books rugs jewelry dishes and yard tools. Now is the time to donate.
A new beginner square dance group will meet at 7 30 p m Saturday March 23 at Kokernot Lodge. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information call TEZ 2539 and join the Pilot Club spring cleaning drive. All profits go to child welfare.
The monthly supper at Aine Country Club will be held at 7 30 p m Saturday March 16. Hosts include Messema, Billy Weston, Kenneth Stucke, Bob Corkins, Cave Woodward, Joe Clark, Frank ut, D D Thomas, Leo Thomas and Marvin Kay.
The Sanderson chapter hosted a Saturday meeting on March 9 at the Homecoming Building. Members from Brewster Culberson Jeff Davis Presidio and Terrell Counties gathered to elect new officers and discuss group affairs.
Central PTA invites members to a 3:00 p.m. meeting at Central School Cafeteria on March 18 to elect officers. Nominees include Suzanne Starr president Janette Bowers 1st vice president Anna Johnson 2nd vice president Elizabeth Foley secretary and Joan Ogletree treasurer. Mayor Homer Hadgiz will speak on city beautification and civic duty. A Brewster County Cancer Society film Is Smoking Necessary will be shown and Field Day plans will be discussed.
The Alpine Garden Club met at Mrs. Vernon Mc’s ranch home on Friday March 8 with Royal Fisler head of the City Parks Board detailing plans for Baines Memorial Park. He urged city organizations to assist in park work and in a future recreational program. The event included a White Elephant Sale for the State Scholarship Fund and a World Fellowship Fund collection, plus elections for officers and a scheduled Alpine meeting on April 20.
