Dick Riddle Pioneer Big Bend cattleman dies on Kokernot 06 Ranch
Richard K. Riddle 73 longtime Big Bend cattleman was found dead at his Kokernot 06 Ranch home near the old post office ruins in Limpia Canyon. Funeral services were held in Livingston Chapel with Rev. Robert Baird officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery. He previously worked as foreman for W W Tumey and later for H L Kokernot 06 Ranch. He is survived by a sister and many nieces and nephews. Local social notes mention visiting relatives from Ohio and a student from TCU Fort Worth returning home for summer term.

AHS Grad Named Top Student At University Medical School
Dr. B D van Josan son of Mrs Marie D Van Fossan of Alvin Texas was elected president of the Student American Medical Association at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston for the coming year. He was installed May 3 in Galveston and attended the national meeting in Los Angeles May 4 4. He serves as consultant biochemist at John Sealy Hospital clinical laboratories and as instructor in pathology. He won the Mu Delta Honorary Medical Service Society Scholarship for top junior class student and will have his name placed on a campus plaque. A Alpine High School and Sul Ross State College graduate he earned his PhD from the university in 1964.
