Alpine announces a summer music program under director FE J Van Fossan with sections for Beginning Intermediate and Advanced bands. The plan includes weekly three sessions M W F mornings at the high school band hall starting June 7 and instrument rental options with a three month trial.
The Latin American Community Center held a May 18 kindergarten graduation with 30 children, diplomas for 11 graduates, and a rhythm and costume program. May 22 featured a visit to Centennial School for first graders. The center closed May 23, held a May 24 picnic, and starts vacation school May 29 with activities for children of all ages.
A letter from FE J Van Fossan invites parents to enroll children in a free summer band program in the high school gym band hall. It explains reorganization aims to balance band size and instrumentation, improve attention to individuals, and provide social and marching opportunities for youths from elementary to high school.
Sealed proposals to construct 20000 miles of graded, dr2, stabilized base and one coat surface treatment from 39.99 to 59.99 miles south of Alpine on SH 118 Brewster County will be received in Austin until 9:00 A M June 21 1950 and opened publicly This public works project falls under Texas legislature acts and is subject to their provisions.
