Outdoor summer theater to open in Big Bend area at Kokernot Lodge
Sul Ross State College repertory company presents four plays each week in August at Kokernot Lodge with no admission charge. Performances run Wednesday through Saturday at 8 30 p m. directors are E Clayton McCarty and Roy Lassiter. Plays include M Liss Private Lives The Moon Is Blue and Time Out for Ginger.

SR to Host Workshop at Sul Ross State College
Southwestern Cooperative Educational Laboratory will sponsor a workshop in the new Gym Complex at Sul Ross State College August 8 and 12. Directors are L Harlan Ford and Dr Bob W Miller of the West Texas Innovative Education Center Alpine. Dr Arthur Colardard of Stanford will be consultant and Dr Bob Berger will be research advisor. Jaycees to Improve County Park Facilities Near Marathon
Alpine Jaycees voted to assist in improving facilities at the county park south of Marathon during Tuesday night’s meeting. Virgil Polacek of the Soil Conservation Service outlined park needs as about 100 daily visitors, with several from other states. Jaycee president Dick Bowers said they will mobilize volunteers upon request to make the park a first class site for all residents.

City to Test More Wells and Approve Paving Projects
City council met with all members present except John W. O'Donnell and unanimously approved buying a used add a phase converter from American Electric Co. to test wells at Musquiz, with Meriwether well testing after Casner wells. They also approved Blue Cross Blue Shield for city employees, paving payments to Briley Construction and engineering fees, stop signs at several intersections, and mayoral authorization to obtain underground line maps from Southwestern Bell and Southwest Texas Municipal Gas Corp.

Alpine voters to decide on three bond issues for water sewer and pool
Alpine will hold a special election to approve three bond issues totaling 350000 for water system improvements 105000 for sewer upgrades and 45000 for a municipal swimming pool. The plan includes a pipeline from Musquiz area and a pool near the golf course with reuse of pool water for irrigation.
