From Th Ta Pee ks: Col humor and road talk of Big Bend
A lively column recalls a joke about Everett Townsend feigning illness to avoid chores and riffing on highway talk. It notes clipped humor from Mrs. RA McMurry in Belton Texas and the Big Bend Trail debate on U S 67. The piece playfully wades through local ads and mischief, mentioning advertisers and a yearlong habit of this newspaper.
