Sprott Receives Purple Heart in Vietnam Ceremony
Sprott Hugh Sprott son of Mr and Mrs Garland Sprott Alpine Texas received the Purple Heart for wounds in action near Cu Chi Vietnam on July 6. A mortarman with Company C 2d Battalion 25th Infantry Division 27th Infantry he entered service in 1967 after basic at Fort Bliss and was stationed at Fort Polk Louisiana prior to Vietnam arrival in October. His wife Evelyn lives in Uvalde and he is a 1962 Sanderson High School graduate and studied at Sul Ross State College. He also holds the Combat Infantryman Badge.
