Public meeting backs school district on facility plans
More than 125 residents urged Supt. Clarence Winn and the school board to proceed with improvements. Winn outlined needs, possible consolidation of Centennial and Central Elementary Schools, and a new junior-senior high at a potential 35 acre site North of town. An option price of 7000 remained via Herbert L. Kokernot Jr. Bonds up to 1600000 could fund new facilities with costs projected between 12 and 15.75 per square foot. Construction could begin in early 1969 if a bond issue passes.
