Sul Ross Sponsors 6 Day Tour of Mexico for Texas Teachers
About 75 Texas teachers joined a 1200 mile six day Sul Ross State College NDEA Linguistics Institute trip led by director F Allen Briggs. They rode a train through Chihuahua meeting Pancho Villas widow, visited Los Mochis and Topolobampo with hotel and yacht motel stops, toured Copper Canyon and canyon scenery, and returned to Alpine calling the tour a complete success.

Former Sul Ross Teacher Honored by Southern Illinois University
Former Sul Ross State College faculty member from 1936 to 1946 received the Great Teacher Award at Southern Illinois University Carbondale this year. The award was presented by the SMU Alumni Association at its annual banquet. Georgia Gantt Winn, a previous winner, is also a former Sul Ross teacher.
