Fort Davis correspondent reports the American Forestry Association may study Brewster County's petrified forest. Geologists note trunks up to 100 feet tall with prostrate trunks, some lengths around 1000 feet, buried under volcanic ash from Chisos Mountains. The forest lies about 100 miles from Alpine near St Helena.
