DAR to Continue Sale Of American Flags
The Big Bend Chapter DAR held its January meeting at Mrs. George W. Baines home. The group pledged allegiance, prayer, and the American creed, approved minutes, and reaffirmed ongoing American flag sales as a special project. Guest Janis French, Alpine High senior and DAR state award winner, attended with family. A Hoover book review on Masters of Deceit highlighted communism dangers and readied members for Patriot citizenship. Lions Club and Presidio Lions events and a Lubbock track invitation for Alpine athlete Turner were noted alongside Camino del Rio editions of The Avalanche.
