Texas Ranger law struck down by judge in injunction
Judge Minor of the 57th District Court in San Antonio voided the 1901 and 1919 ranger statutes as unconstitutional, enjoining state officials from paying ranger salaries. The ruling cites violation of three articles of the Texas Constitution and claims rangers usurp sheriffs and governors powers. The AG's office will appeal amid legislative session new questions.
